A big thanks to Rev. David Jones for fronting an interview for the S4C new program - Wedi 7. They will be doing a news slot on next Tuesday's programme. The interview took place on the banks of the lake at Sandy water park. They spent some time talking to David about the walk and then took some covering shots of Ceri & Simon walking up and down.

progress report
Several more practice walks under our belt, including a walk from Lllanelli to Tumble and back, and we are on course for the start of the walk.
If you are reading this, please consider donating and helping us raise as much money as possible for Leukemia research. You can donate at www.justgiving.com/llanelli2snowdon.
Darryl has just purchase a new netbook to take on the walk, so providing there are wifi points on the way he will be able to keep the blog up to date.

Trial Walk
As part of our extensive training we have completed a walk from Tumble to Llandeilo. We managed to experience most forms of weather conditions.
Here we are just leaving Lyn Llech Owain in warm dry conditions

At this point Dylan was happy as larry and full of enthusiasm

The weather was so good we even stopped for a picnic before we went on our way again.
Then in the afternoon, on our return from Llandeilo,
the rains came and Dylan was no longer happy! He had to be carried the last 5 miles :(

Many thanks for your support
We have asked around the businesses in Llanelli for financial help and would very much like to thank those who have supported us.
Firstly to Roger Bowen and Llanelli Round table. They have had a collection and provided us with a cheque for £300
Secondly a very big thank you to Philip Lewis of Felinfoel Breweries for a cheque for £200.
Both these amount will help go a long way to paying for the camp site accommodation and food we will have to buy on the way.
Ta to everyone who contributed

Llanelli to Snowdon - the idea
Ceri Benjamin (16), Simon Davies (15) and Jess Roscoe (15) are organising a sponsored walk from Llanelli to the top of Snowdon, a distance of about 150 miles. They plan to do this over 9 days between the 9th and 18th of August, travelling up through mid Wales. Their aim is to raise as much money for Leukaemia research as possible. The original idea was Ceri’s, she had taken part in 2006 in a walk for Teenage Cancer trust with 3 other young members of Greenfield from Llanelli to London (West end to West end) and wanted to do something similar again. The walk to Snowdon is slightly shorter in distance but will be more challenging as the terrain is a lot hillier and of course on the final day, the plan is to climb up from Plas Gwynant to the summit of Snowdon and then back down to Llanberis. They will be supported by Simon’s & Cer's Dads, who will be taking it in turns in driving the car or walking with them.
